The Sarawak Research and Development Council (SRDC) and its subsidiary, the Sarawak Infectious Disease Centre (SIDC), will organise the Sarawak SHInE International Conference 2026 (Science, Health, Innovation and Engineering) from 9 to 11 September 2026 at Imperial Hotel Kuching. SHInE 2026 carries the theme "Advancing Science, Health, Innovation and Engineering", and will highlight Sarawak’s commitment to strengthening research excellence, driving innovation, and creating real-world impact across science, technology, engineering, and healthcare.

Over the three days, the conference is expected to attract more than 300 participants, featuring over 30 expert speakers and 30 sessions. Invited speakers will not only come from within Malaysia but also from countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia, Cambodia, Singapore, and Taiwan. Attendees will hear from leaders across government, academia, and industry, and will have the opportunity to explore an exhibition showcasing the latest innovations and initiatives from over 30 participating organisations.

Another highlight will be the SRDC BrightSparX Programme, which nurtures young talent, alongside the Premier’s BrightSparX Innovation Award, recognising outstanding solutions from emerging innovators.
