We are pleased to invite all lecturers and postgraduate students in the Central Sarawak region to the Bibliometric Analysis Workshop 2025. It is a free, three-day hands-on training jointly organised by the Sarawak Research and Development Council (SRDC) and UTS. SRDC’s support of this workshop reflects its commitment to elevate Sarawak’s research visibility by equipping you with data-driven tools to assess publication trends, map collaboration networks, and inform strategic research planning.

Workshop Overview:

Bibliometric analysis enables researchers to quantitatively assess scholarly literature, spot emerging trends, and map collaboration networks, essential skills for systematic literature reviews and strategic research planning. Over three days, participants will learn how to:

  1. Formulate precise search strategies in Scopus using the right Boolean operators
  2. Export and prepare bibliographic data for analysis
  3. Visualise research landscapes, research collaboration, and thematic clusters using VOSviewer
  4. Interpret maps to guide future research directions and identify potential collaborators

Who Should Attend:

This workshop is open to all lecturers and postgraduate students based in the Central Sarawak region (Sibu and surrounding districts). Whether you are new to bibliometric methods or looking to deepen your expertise, this workshop will provide practical skills you can apply immediately in your research.
